4-channel Valve Control System for bath and focal perfusion
The BPS-4 systems are low cost valve control systems for bath, tissue, cell,
and Oocyte perfusion. These gravity feed or pressure systems are designed
to simplify the addition of solutions to the cellular bath.

4-channel Valve Control System for bath and focal perfusion
The BPS-4 systems are low cost valve control systems for bath, tissue, cell,
and Oocyte perfusion. These gravity feed or pressure systems are designed
to simplify the addition of solutions to the cellular bath. Each channel of
the BPS-4 consists of an electronically controlled pinch or solenoid valve
and a three position toggle switch (1 per valve) for manual control. The BPS-4
has four BNC TTL inputs that control each valve directly. The use of these
BNC TTL inputs allows for complete control of the valves from commonly used
data acquisition systems.
Gravity:
A gravity system consists of a magnetic stand that holds the brackets for
the valves and the reservoirs. The standard reservoirs are 60ml luer lock
syringes. The valves are 3 way pinch valves. Pinch valves are easier to clean
because pinch valves have no internally wetted surfaces. The silicone tubing
that is “pinched” is easily replaced or washed out. The entire reservoir assembly
as well as individual reservoirs can be moved up/down in order to balance
fluid flow. The fluid is directed into the Minimanifold and then flows out
a single output tube.
Pressure:
A pressure system consists of a magnetic stand that holds the brackets for
the pressure valves and pressure reservoirs. The pressurized valve manifold
consists of special pressure fittings and solenoid Lee valves. These valves
require flushing after use. To pressurize the system, the optional model #
PR-10 - Pressure Regulator is suggested. This system, which can also be fitted
with pinch valves, allows ALA’s Micromanfolds® to be utilized for fast
focal drug application.
The
BPS-4 controls the valves via toggle switch (to allow simultaneous valve operation)
or via computer using TTL outputs. One TTL input is provided for each valve.
Connection to the valve manifold is via a 5 pin DIN cable. LED indicators
provide data about valve status and power. A grounding terminal and power
input are included.
