Miniature Preamplifier MPA
Small sized and light weight headstage:
The miniature head stage preamplifiers MPA can be connected directly to the microelectrodes in the test model to provide the first amplification stage of 10.
MPAs with 8 and 32 electrodes are available, MPA8I and MPA32I, respectively. Both versions include one reference electrode.

Adapters are provided to connect the MPAs to a wide range of in vivo probes.
Please contact MCS or your local retailer if you miss adapters for your in vivo system.
MPA8I
The miniature head stage preamplifiers MPA8I can be connected directly to the microelectrodes in the test model to provide the first amplification stage of 10.
The 8 signal channels can then be collected and send to a split box SB8x8 or SB8x8BC, which connects to an FA or PGA.
The MPA8I includes a common ground and one reference electrode input. This allows the measurement of the voltage difference between the electrodes and one reference electrode.
This feature provides a superior common-mode noise rejection.
Noise that is of the same polarity and of the same magnitude is removed.
The same reference is used for all eight inputs.
The MPA's small size allows easy placement.
The metal housing prevents the amplifier from picking up external noise.
MPA32I
The miniature head stage preamplifiers MPA32I can be connected directly to various input types to provide the first amplification stage of 10.
The 32 signal channels can then be collected and send to a split box SB2x32, which connects to an FA or PGA.
The MPA32I includes a common ground and one reference electrode input.
This allows the measurement of the voltage difference between the electrodes and one reference electrode. This feature provides a superior common-mode noise rejection.
Noise that is of the same polarity and of the same magnitude is removed. The same reference is used for all 32 inputs.
The MPA's small size allows easy placement. The metal housing prevents the amplifier from picking up external noise.
MP-Adapters
Adaptor for Michigan probes:
The MP-ADAPTER allows a direct connection of the Michigan probe to two miniature preamplifiers MPA8I.
Universal adapters:
For all kind of probes-
Standard adapters with an Omnetics connector are available for the MPA8I.
MCS provides adapters for almost all probes on request.
